Why?
Stephen is cycling from one end of the UK to the other.
I'm doing it for fun and for the experience. It's a relatively gentle average of 63 miles a day that will see me cover 1000 miles or so over two plus weeks. I want to have time to see and enjoy all the wonderful countryside - it's not a race. There will be nothing silly like camping or carrying my own luggage - there's a van and I will be staying in proper hotels - but there will be lots and lots of hills.
It is not an organised charity ride but several people have asked if they could sponsor my efforts. If you want to contribute to a worthwhile charity then I suggest Hanwell Neighbourly Care which does great work with older people in our locality. I have an interest - Ann is the chair and with 'Austerity' she has to spend far too much time on money matters rather than on helping people.
You can donate online or in person when you see me. Many, many thanks.
